We look for students with a strong and rounded background in law.
The Paris office welcomes trainees to all our practice areas.
We pay special attention to their recruitment because Freshfields uses professional training to identify its future associates.
We offer three- to six-month training programmes all year round. We look for students with a strong and rounded background in law, preferably with training from a business school/IEP and/or LLM. Students need to have an excellent level of English legal vocabulary.
Applications are assessed by the partners and associates in charge of recruitment within their respective practice. Interviews will be held for those candidates who are called back, to choose those who will be offered a training programme.
Our training experience
As a trainee seconded to the Paris office, you'll assist our lawyers by drafting English-language documents and carrying out research. You may also be responsible for liaising with the London office when the job involves both French and English jurisdictions.
You'll gain global experience working for clients in different countries and jurisdictions. You'll work with tutors in a range of practice areas and assist on multidisciplinary transactions.
You will have your own areas of responsibility and so will quickly develop business skills.

Student programmes
Every year we offer ambitious and motivated students internships that last from three to six months. These internships are designed for students who are required to complete a law firm internship as part of their coursework.
