Graduates
We’re looking for exceptional students.
Students who want to begin their legal career in an exciting global environment.
We are interested in ambitious and highly motivated candidates with a first-class academic record. We value teamwork highly, so we also ask for proof that you can get on with a huge range of colleagues and clients.
You must be naturally curious and relish a challenge. The ability to think clearly and make sense of complicated problems is a must. Organisation, flexibility and commercial sense are essential.
The pace of work here is tough, so we're looking for people with the discipline, determination and drive to succeed. We need evidence that you can multitask, that you can keep track and that you don't lose your cool.
Potential and diversity are foremost in our minds when assessing new graduates. We're interested in the person behind the list of achievements.
Our training experience
We welcome our graduates with a week-long induction course, introducing them to the practical aspects of being a Freshfields lawyer in Spain.
You'll be an integral part of the team and fully immersed in client work. Meanwhile, you'll be involved in a programme of internal seminars.
You'll have constant feedback from your supervisor and day-to-day support from colleagues.
How to apply
Our main trainee recruitment drive takes place once a year, between September and April.
Once you've made contact, we'll set up a first interview by telephone to assess general suitability and level of English. We'll then meet you in person and finally, we'll assess your technical ability and legal analytical skills through a case study and interviews with partners.
To apply for a trainee position in our Madrid office, please send your CV and covering letter to hr.spain@freshfields.com
