Graduates
Your chance to be your best.
As a trainee in a relatively small, close-knit practice, you’ll be expected to pitch in on all aspects of office life.
You'll work across all our practice groups, as well as in business services to gain a complete understanding of how our office works.
It's hard work but you'll quickly gain broad experience at all levels and you will be rewarded with one of the best salary and benefits package in the industry.
Our training experience
Wherever in the world you join us, you'll get the best support and training until you qualify as a lawyer, solicitor or attorney.
During a two-year training contract with Freshfields, unlike most other firms, you can do up to eight seats across our practice areas to give you the broadest perspective on our work and where you'd like to focus.
These seats always include three months in corporate and in finance because they form our core offer; otherwise, the choice is yours.
And because we're global, we offer a large number of opportunities to do a seat in another office or with an overseas client.
During each seat, you receive constant feedback from your supervisor, and every three months you have an appraisal with a partner.
It's hard work, so at the end of your training contract, you may choose to take 20 days unpaid holiday before you start work as a qualified lawyer.
Student programmes
Our intern programme gives talented local students the chance to find out about life in a big, international law firm.
The length of internships varies and there is no automatic job at the end. Candidates are judged on individual performance and there has to be a suitable vacancy.
To apply, you should be working towards a law degree and have gained good academic results so far. You should also have fluent written and spoken English. There is no set recruitment period: we take on interns at different times of the year.
Send your university results so far and a covering letter (and CV if applicable) to the details below.
