About Meredith Bayley
Meredith is a corporate counsel in our global transactions group.
She acts on complex domestic and cross-border M&A deals, joint ventures and other corporate advisory and transactional work for a broad mix of listed and unlisted corporate clients. She advises clients across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on the telecoms, media and technology sector.
During her time at Freshfields, Meredith has spent time in the firm’s Singapore office and on secondment at a multinational communications services provider.
In 2023, Meredith was featured in Law.com’s list of UK female rising stars.
Recent work
- Advising Hargreaves Lansdown plc on the final recommended offer from a consortium comprising CVC, Nordic Capital and ADIA
- Advising Sonoco Products Company on its $3.9bn acquisition of Eviosys
- Advising industrial software player, AVEVA Group plc, on the recommended US$11.6 billion takeover offer by Schneider Electric
- Advising London Stock Exchange Group plc on a number of matters, including its:
- 10-year, multi-billion pound strategic collaboration with Microsoft for next-generation data, analytics and cloud infrastructure solutions
- acquisition of Refinitiv in an all-share transaction for a total enterprise value of $27 billion
- €4.325 billion disposal of the Borsa Italiana Group
- £750m on-market buyback programme and directed buyback
- Advising BT on its structural reorganisation of Openreach following regulatory demands and on governance matters
- Advising BT on its £12.5 billion acquisition of EE
