About Dr. Michal Dobrowolski
Michal is part of our private M&A solutions group, our private capital team and our global transactions team. He is also a member of the CEE/CIS group, and has a proven track record in the region.
Michal is used to handling complex, high-profile transactions across multiple countries. He specialises in private M&A, with a focus on private equity transactions, public M&A, particularly public takeovers and squeeze-outs, as well as transactions in the energy, gas and telecoms sectors across the globe. He is not only qualified in Austria but also as Solicitor (England & Wales).
Beside German, Michal's mother tongue is Polish - extremely useful for his transactional work in central and eastern Europe (CEE). Due to his sector knowledge and experience advising on numerous M&A transactions in almost all of the CEE countries, he is often recommended for M&A advice in the region.
Michal is the author of various publications on corporate law and a regular speaker at conferences.
Besides German and Polish, Michal also speaks English and French.

- Advising Trilantic Europe, a leading European private equity firm, on the acquisition of a 60% stake the in Aerocompact Group, a leading solar technology provider from Austria.
- Advising U.S.-based packaging group Multi-Color Corp on the acquisition of the labels unit of the Constantia Flexibles Group.
- Advising APG Asset Management, acting on behalf of its Dutch pension fund clients, on their joint venture with Orange Polska to create the largest independent wholesale fibre operator in Poland.
- Advising ABB, the Swiss engineering and power grid company, on the acquisition of the world-wide active machine and factory automation company Bernecker + Rainer Group.
- Advising Cassa Depositi E Prestiti SpA on the ITO certification and reorganization of its CDP/OMV joint venture company TAG owning the TAG pipeline in Austria.
- Advising US based CA Technologies on the acquisition of the Automic Holding Group from EQT.
- Advising JP Morgan & Chase and One Equity Partners on the acquisition and takeover of the Constantia Packaging Group, including in particular the subsequent takeover offer, squeeze-out and the price-review proceedings in relation to the squeeze-out, as well as the the €2.4bn sale of the Constantia Flexibles Group to the Wendel Group (Paris).
- Advising Hutchison Whampoa on the acquisition of Orange, the third largest mobile telecommunication operator in Austria, from MidEuropa Partners and France Telekom, including the sale of Yesss! (a mobile virtual network operator owned by Orange), and certain base stations, frequencies and trade marks to A1 Telekom Austria.
- Advising Lufthansa on the takeover of Austrian Airlines, the squeeze-out of the minorities and price-review proceedings.
- Advising STMicorelectronics on the acquisition of a NFC business in Switzerland, Serbia and Austria.
