About Nicholas Fischer
Nicholas is Senior Associate in our IP litigation team, based in our London Office.
Nicholas is an experienced patent litigator who advises clients on a wide range of intellectual property issues, with a focus on contentious life sciences and high-tech work.
His background in cell biology means he is well-placed to handle the technical aspects of patent disputes in pharmaceutical and biotechnology, chemical and medical devices fields.
Nicholas has advised clients in actions in the High Court and Court of Appeal, along with co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional disputes involving teams across Europe (including in EPO opposition proceedings), North America and Australia. Nicholas also advises clients on strategic and regulatory issues including supplemetary protection certificates and data/market and orphan drug exclusivities.

- Biologics: advising a leading pharmaceutical company in proceedings relating to an antibody treatment for osteoarthritis pain*
- Medical devices: advising a global medical device company in infringement proceedings relating to Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) devices*
- Technology: advising a global manfacturer in multi-patent revocation and infringement proceedings concerning control systems for telehandlers*
