About Dr. Viviane Fröhling

Viviane is a Counsel and Head of Knowledge Private M&A Continental Europe who focuses on private M&A. 

Viviane's role includes capturing insights, analysing legal developments and market practice in the area of mergers and acquisitions and company law, developing knowledge products and legal training for the firm's clients and lawyers and providing advice on private M&A matters.

As a member of the firm's knowledge team, she connects people and knowledge to enable the firm's partners and associates to provide market-leading client service, support them in developing their legal skills and strengthen client relationships. In her role, Viviane works closely with partners, associates, knowledge and business development colleagues across the firm to ensure clients benefit from the firm's leading expertise in the area of global transactions.

She also has many years of experience in working with legal knowledge bases and is regularly involved in projects aimed at improving the firm's systems for knowledge capturing and making available legal knowledge.  

Prior to joining the firm's knowledge team, Viviane Fröhling was an associate in the corporate / M&A practice of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, advising on international M&A transactions and company law matters. She also spent time in the firm's Paris and (former) Barcelona offices.

Viviane speaks German, English and French and has basic knowledge of Spanish.

Education

  • Cologne University, Germany (Dr iur)
  • Université des Sciences Sociales de Toulouse I, France (Licence en Droit)
  • Universities of Cologne and Passau in Germany, and Toulouse in France (legal studies)

Professional qualifications

  • Admitted as German Rechtsanwältin to the Düsseldorf bar
  • Legal clerkship in Cologne, Germany, and New York (German American Chamber of Commerce)
