About Harshavardhan Ganesan
Harshavardhan Ganesan is an associate in our IP/IT group and is based in Singapore. Harsha has over seven years of experience in advising clients on complex and strategic IP, commercial, technology and data transactions across various sectors and jurisdictions, including the US, India, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Harsha completed his LLM from University of California, Berkeley with a specialisation in IP and technology. He holds a BSL LLB from ILS Law College, Pune where he was awarded the prestigious Best Student Award.
Harsha is well versed in advising clients on issues relating to intellectual property, technology, telecommunications and data privacy. One of his main areas of focus is in relation to commercial and transactional intellectual property arrangements of various kinds, including drafting and negotiating complex IP-related agreements like brand licensing agreements, patent and trade mark assignment agreements, know-how licensing agreements, and other collaboration agreements. Separately, he is well versed in drafting commercial documents with an emphasis on licensing, collaborations and joint ventures, focused on the life sciences, automotive, tech and telecoms sectors including manufacturing agreements, distribution agreements, supply agreements, bancassurance agreements and other commercial documents. The other main area of focus is in relation to data privacy compliance in the APAC region and globally. Harsha has experience advising clients on data privacy compliance, including cross-border data protection laws and drafting drafting data transfer and processing agreements to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation.
Harsha is fluent in Tamil and English.

- A global insurance provider on its acquisition of a majority stake in an Indian Insurer from its parent company.
- A global PE fund on its investment in the regional data centre business of a Singaporean telecommunications entity.
- An international pharma and healthcare company on a carve out of its PRC business.
- Nexif Energy Management on the sale of Nexif Energy’s portfolio of Australian and Southeast Asian energy assets to the Thai-listed RATCH Group PLC
- A global pharmaceutical company in its divestment of its businesses in Bangladesh and Pakistan
- CK Life and CK Hutchison Holdings on their minority co-investment in Pharus, a greenfield business based in Taiwan with focus on the research, development and commercialisation of molecular diagnostics for the early detection of cancer, through the subscription of Series A2 Preference Shares
- An international media outlet on China cross-border data transfer issues
- Menarini Group on its exclusive licensing agreement with SciClone to co-develop and commercialise Vaborem® in China by sub-licensing the rights in Vaborem® to SciClone for development and commercialisation in China under a head licence from Melinta Therapeutics.
