About Thomas Heilborn

Thomas is an associate in our New York office, specializing in leveraged finance and project finance transactions. He advises corporate borrowers, financial sponsors, and lenders on a wide range of domestic and cross-border matters. His experience spans direct and syndicated debt financing transactions, as well as the development and financing of complex energy and infrastructure projects. With a strong grasp of both the legal and financial aspects of these deals, Thomas is dedicated to helping clients navigate the complexities of structuring and executing high-value transactions.

Recent work

ContourGlobal (KKR) on the $900 million acquisition, including secured project finance debt of US$643 million, of a large-scale solar PV (photovoltaic) and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) portfolio from Grenergy, located in Oasis de Atacama, Chile.

KfW IPEX-Bank on the $165 million project financing for a solar power generation and storage facility in Osceola, Arkansas.

KfW IPEX-Bank on the limited recourse financing for Hybar, a steel recycling and rebar project in Osceola, Arkansas.

KfW IPEX-Bank on the limited recourse financing for the construction, startup, operation and maintenance of a world-scale anhydrous ammonia plant in Topolobampo, Mexico.

Platinum Equity on the €930 million financing for its acquisition of Imerys’ High Temperature Solutions business.

Platinum Equity on the $2.1 billion refinancing of its acquisition of LifeScan from Johnson & Johnson.

Franchise Group, Inc. and its portfolio companies in a financing round, merger and take-private transaction for $2.6 billion.
