Freshfields advises on the State of Colorado’s Central 70 highway redevelopment project
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) has advised the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Colorado Bridge Enterprise and the Colorado High Performance Transportation Enterprise on their procurement of the Central 70 P3 Project.
The Central 70 project will involve the reconstruction of a 10-mile section of Interstate 70 over a five-year period, as well as its subsequent operation and maintenance. This section of the highway provides the connection from Denver International Airport to the Denver metro area and to further points west, including Colorado’s major ski resorts.
Financing for the $1.2bn project closed last month and consisted of a federal loan and a tax-exempt private activity bond issuance by the winning bidder: a consortium of US construction company Kiewit and global infrastructure fund Meridiam.
The Freshfields New York team was led by Bobby Stewart.
