Freshfields represents Sonoco Products Company in its $1.2B inaugural green bond offering

Freshfields represented Sonoco Products Company in its SEC-registered $1.2 billion inaugural offering of green bonds, consisting of $400 million aggregate principal amount of 1.800% notes due 2025, $300 million aggregate principal amount of 2.250% notes due 2027 and $500 million aggregate principal amount of 2.850% notes due 2032. Sonoco intends to use an amount equal to the net proceeds from the offering to partially fund its acquisition of Ball Metalpack, a leading manufacturer of sustainable metal packaging for food and household products, which qualifies as an Eligible Project under Sonoco’s Green Financing Framework.
