Freshfields advises Lloyd’s Register on its acquisition of OneOcean
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has advised Lloyd’s Register, a global provider of maritime professional services, on its acquisition of OneOcean from Equistone Partners Europe. OneOcean is a leading supplier of voyage compliance, safety and environmental solutions.
This acquisition will accelerate LR’s ambitions to be the maritime industry’s trusted adviser for compliance, safety, performance and sustainability solutions, enabling clients to benefit from more efficient, cleaner and safer operations.
The transaction is subject to regulatory clearances and is expected to complete by the end of summer 2022.
The Freshfields team is being led by corporate partner Ziyad Nassif, who previously advised Lloyd’s Register on the disposal of its Business Assurance & Inspection Services division. Partners Richard Lister, Martin McElwee, May Smith, Martin Hutchings, Andrew Murphy, Matthew Bruce, Nabeel Yousef and Roger Schofield are also advising on the transaction.
