Freshfields advises Midea on its acquisition of the Climate Division from Arbonia AG
Global law firm Freshfields has advised Midea Electrics Netherlands B.V., a subsidiary of the globally operating Midea Group on its €750m acquisition of the Climate Division from Arbonia AG. The transaction was completed on 26 February 2025.
Midea develops and manufactures products in the area of air conditioning and building technology, industrial components, robotics and automation. The Group’s headquarter is located in Foshan, in the south of China. With more than 190,000 employees, the group achieved a turnover of around €48bn in 2023.
Arbonia AG is a Swiss building supplier, which is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange. After the sale of the Climate Division is completed, Arbonia will focus on the supply of interior doors made of wood and glass.
